my crafting eludes me

I always have these grand and wonderful plans to blog somewhat regularly and then I just fail, horribly.

Things have been busy, hectic, and crazy.  My Girl Scout year didn't go as I wanted it to, the new job, while enjoyable, is hard to cope with at times, and I just recently moved in with my boyfriend of almost a year.

With all of that, my crafting has taken a back seat and it's somewhat saddening.  I love crafting, it's my escape, and it's a realization that I have not been able to escape.

The blanket from February didn't last long.  I still have an unfinished Pokemon hat from December, and now I am sitting doing my best to plug away at a blanket and a few other baby items for a looming Baby Shower.

I attempted to get back into my crafting game when I joined the instagram swap, fibreshare to get those knitting juices flowing.  And granted I received an AH-MAY-ZING package from the always amazing Mara (orangeknits on IG), it didn't inspire me to dig out needles or beads or my sewing machine.

It wasn't until one of my Girl Scout co-leaders told me she is dabbling in crafting and that I should go halves with her for all of the winter craft fairs that will be beginning in November, did I realize that my crafts have taken a massive hit in my life.

Can I pick things up and really get gung-ho about it?  I'm not sure, but I really want to make a stronger effort in weekly blogs to showcase my crafts and build up a stock for the the craft fairs.

Here's to a summer resolution!

By the way, the baby blanket is coming along nicely.  I surprisingly have ZERO white in my stock and substituted it.  Not sure 100% how I feel about it, but I like that it's coming along.  Hoping to finish it by next week so I can plug away at the adorable Link outfit that I found.
